Good friends and I are kicking off a new apparel brand. It is named "The Times" as in “these are the times.” We are launching our latest wares this weekend with a couple of gatherings. The first is at Origami Vinyl and the second at Footsie's. Check out the collection online and if you’re in Los Angeles this Saturday night come to the parties and say "hello." Party deets here.
Check out the video of Justin and Nico in the studio days before the opening of "Oh Snap". Visit This Gallery to see the work in person or peep it online through March 15th. Shot and edited by Aaron Farley.
We’re excited to announce the opening reception of Justin Krietemeyer’s first solo show, at the esteemed This Gallery in the Highland Park community of Los Angeles, California. “Oh Snap” will open on Friday, March 1, 2013 and run through March 15. The show is a homecoming for Krietemeyer, his first substantial L.A. exhibition since 2008. “Oh Snap” will feature large graphite renderings with watercolor abstractions of acid house smileys, handmade multiples exploring the idea of almost reaching enlightenment but forgetting the path that took you there, and mixed media panels representing a warm remembering of warehouse parties, surf salutations, desert discoveries, and the infinite present. The exhibition will be colorful, silly, and optimistic with a vibe that’s completely California.
Please plan to attend as you are cordially invited and warmly welcomed.
Update: The show was a blast. Great photos to come. In the meantime check out the individual pieces, or read a quick interview.
We are closing the Auroraborealis show with a rager. Steven Harrington and I as well as National Forest are teaming up with both The Standard, Hollywood and Los Angeles I’m Yours to throw a blowout on Saturday, February 9. There will be a performance by Nite Jewel, DJ sets by M83's Jordan Lawlor and Ladypills, booze ridden snow cones courtesy of Art in the Age, free tarot card readings, SmileBooth photo jams, and complimentary high fives and butt pats from Steven and I. Come hang with us poolside and enjoy the Cali “cold” winter night. RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have visited The Standard, Hollywood this winter you may have noticed that it has totally been transformed into a California cosmic winter wonder zone courtesy of Justin Krietemeyer and Steven Harrington. The exhibition is titled "Auroraborealis" and features paintings, drawings, and sculptural installations. The work will be on display through the 10th of February. Swing by and check it out. Thanks Quang for the sick photos.
